The 62 Northbourne Avenue office complex is 11,000m2 of commercial office space and is located in close proximity to the Canberra CBD. Construction of the complex was completed in 1988 and the building was occupied from this time by the Federal Government department ‘Ausaid’ until mid-2007. The then commercial property owner, Investa, signed an agreement with the Department of Infrastructure for a new whole-building lease with a works deed included in the lease document that required significant architectural and services upgrades and enhancement of the ground floor areas.
In March 2007, EVC was appointed as project manager of the building refurbishment and upgrade. By fully integrating the tenant’s services design into the base building scope, EVC saved a significant amount of time and money for both the landlord and tenant.
The key features of the refurbishment included:
Value: $10 million
Architects: HBO, Bligh Voller Nield
